Today let’s talk about what to expect when we start your landscape project.
Dig Test and Sprinklers
One of the very first things we do is call out for a dig test. That dig test is going to tell us where the gas line is, and where your fiber is, for your internet, and electrical lines.
In addition to that we make sure that we don’t hit any sprinkler heads. We turn on the sprinkler system and we flag every single head that we find. We take such care to mark all the sprinkler heads because we are going to come in with a sod cutter and remove the grass to make this new bed.
Plant and Stone Removal
On a recent project, everything in our customer’s yard was pretty plain and basic. Many of the plants that were here died. If your landscape has dead or dying plants, don’t worry! We come in and remove all the old plants, which allows us to freshen up the beds and make them look new.
After we remove the old plants, we re-shape the flower beds. We spray paint the new boundaries, and then we have our design guys come in so that we can make sure we have the outlines of the bed accurately matched to the design.
We also remove all the old stonework to make way for the new border for your design.
Your Grass/Sod
The grass that was on this property was not doing so well. There is a big tree in the middle of the yard. Because of this, the homeowner had ryw grass which is a full-shade grass. We are going to switch over to a luscious and green zoysia. One grass type is not better or worse than another—it all depends on your property and on the structures you have around it.
